About
Co-Art began with two artists who kept painting together.

Joanne is an emerging artist with nonverbal autism. Since 2019 she has been painting alongside Hari Koutlakis, a painter and muralist based in South Australia. Their collaboration has had its challenges, and along the way they have learnt from each other, marked artistic milestones, and become friends.
Co-Art Studio was founded by Dr Jung Yoon, who saw in their work a way of making art that could be shared more widely: artists working side by side, each bringing something the other does not have.
Today twelve artists work in the studio in Norwood, each paired with a mentor artist who works in the same materials. The work they make is exhibited, sold and commissioned, and a share of every sale goes to the artist who made it.
What a supported studio is
A supported studio is a working art studio, not a class and not a therapy program. Artists come in to make their own work, with support matched to what they need. Co-Art is registered under the NDIS, and we also welcome artists and participants without NDIS funding.
