Stories About the Let’s Be Friends project

Project introduction

What does 'a friend’ mean to you?

“Curiosity is a beautiful seed that can grow into knowledge, compassion, creativity and altruism.”

Children are our future adults, our future parents and teachers. It is important that we nurture their curiosity about people who have physical or cognitive differences by sharing stories that ‘familiarise’ these differences. I want children without a disability to feel comfortable being around children with complex disabilities, and children with a disability to feel welcomed in our community. Knowing and understanding them are the first steps towards building friendship.
